Joining Criteria
Prerequisites
All Weigh Ahead programs are selective and require hospitals and physician practices to meet certain criteria in order to assure that the effectiveness of these exclusive programs is maintained.
These prerequisites are meant to exclude non-qualifying entities and so provide a level of certainty and continuity to the success of the programs, by only accepting applicants that will meet the patient's needs and the programs requirements.
For example, many of Weigh Ahead's preferred programs have the following criteria for acceptance:
- Credentialing requirements
- physician practice specialty requirements
- minimum existing annual patient base levels (i.e. not less than 3,000)
- facility space requirements (2 exam rooms - 5 days/week)
- staff requirements ( 2 Medical Assistants and 1 front desk assistant)
*note that these are minimal requirements that must be met and some programs have additional requirements.
